Effective home treatments to get rid of clogged pores easily

Clogged pores are a common skincare concern that is dealt with by almost everyone. However, these can be difficult to resolve if left untreated. Let us understand what exactly are these skin pores? The middle layer of skin contains sweat glands that result in perspiration. Sweat glands perform important duties such as regulating body temperature and eliminating waste by evaporating salt and water from the body onto the surface of the skin. Sweat is produced by sweat glands and passes through pores and onto the skin.

What causes clogged pores?

The main reason for the appearance of clogged pores is:
  • Excess oil that results due to sebum production from sebaceous glands
  • The accumulation of dead skin cells and over-cleansing the skin. Excess oil and dead skin begin to collect on the skin's top surface over time. If someone does not wash skin regularly, these irritants accumulate and clog the pores.
  • Also one should not wash excessively! Cleaning skin too frequently may remove it from its natural oils, leading it to dead and dry skin.
  • Excessive oil production can lead to oily skin and accumulation.
  • Genetics and hormones
  • Excessive Stress and anxiety
  • Overexposure to the sun
  • Weather/ Seasonal changes
Therefore it is necessary to know how much facial hygiene should be taken care of. As the right amount of facial hygiene relies on the skin type. That's why manage the skin according to your skin type.
Note: The size of a pore never varies. Instead, the dirt and debris block the pores which enlarge and become more visible.

Effective ways to treat clogged pores

Pores are skin holes that house hair follicles. Keeping pores clean keeps them from clogging and promotes healthy skin.

1. Cleanse skin daily: Cleaning the skin removes the oils, cosmetics, and dirt that accumulate over the day. The elimination of these chemicals minimizes the likelihood of clogged pores.

2. Exfoliate: Dead skin cells can accumulate and plug pores on the nose, making them appear larger. Exfoliating can help eliminate dead skin cells.

3. Apply sunscreen regularly: UV damage can cause pores to appear wider, and the nose is especially susceptible to sun damage. People can avoid having wider pores on their noses by applying sunscreen to their faces regularly.

Clogged Pores Treatment at home

There are a few ayurvedic home remedies to get rid of enlarged or clogged pores easily such as:

Steam

Take Steam once a week.
  • Either boil water in a utensil or take a steamer machine (as per your convenience)
  • For best results, someone can add lemon peels to the boiling water.
  • Take the steam on your face for about 4-5 minutes with your eyes closed.
  • After that wipe your face with a wet towel.
  • By doing this, the pores will expand through sweat production resulting in the dirt coming out. This process also helps in treating acne and pimples.

Papaya

A natural scrubber and exfoliator.
  • Take a ripen papaya and grate/slice some quantity of it.
  • Massage this papaya on the skin and leave it for 5- 10 minutes.
  • When it becomes dry then scrub with your fingers for 2 minutes, later wash it off with warm water.
  • This will reduce the clogged pores and also give someone softer and glowing skin.

How to prevent clogged pores?

  • Excessive scrubbing can draw more microorganisms and dead cells, exacerbating the oiliness. As a result, pores appear significantly larger and more apparent on the skin.
  • Do not touch or pick at breakouts: Our fingertips are covered in filth, germs, and sebum from using the keyboard, smartphone, and other electronic devices.
  • If someone frequently touches your facial skin, someone will continue to introduce new microorganisms to your skin, which will promote outbreaks. This, in turn, makes open pores appear larger.
  • Avoid consuming foods with a sour, spicy, or salty flavor.
  • Cleaning the skin at night also helps to avoid the buildup of oil and debris in the pores, which reduces the size of open pores.
  • Regular night cleansing cleans the skin, eliminates trapped debris, and aids in the shrinking of open pores and the reduction of breakouts.
  • Apply a nice facial oil that is natural and balanced such as olive, almond, or baby Oil.
  • This skin-balancing oil absorbs excess oil, cools the skin, enhances and evens out skin tone, and brightens the complexion.
  • Fried and fatty foods should be consumed in moderation.
  • Balance stress and mood aggravation.
