Joint Pain: causes, symptoms, and ayurvedic treatment 

Joints are the parts of human body where bones met and discomforts, aches and soreness in such areas are referred to as ‘Joint Pain’.

Causes of Joint Pain

It may arise due to any of the following situations-

  • Contusions
  • Overuse injury
  • Repetitive Motion
  • Joint separation
  • Joint Dislocation
  • Sports Injury
  • Torn Cartilage
  • Ligament Sprains
  • Retained foreign body
  • Tuberculosis
  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Hepatitis
  • Influenza
  • Syphilis
  • Bone Cancer
  • Psoriasis
  • Rheumatic fever
  • Haemophilia
  • Paget’s Disease

Symptoms

These includes following

  • Redness
  • Joint Noise
  • Reduced Mobility
  • Stiffness
  • Swelling
  • Visible deformity of affected Joint

Primary Treatment(s)

  • Daily consumption of neat cheropodium album (Bathua) extract in empty stomach. It will relief patient completely. 
    • Repeat this for 15-20 days. In severe cases, follow this prescription for 2-3 months. 
    • Mix bathua leaves in wheat flour and make bread of it in oven/pan. Consume this bread once in a day.

Secondary Treatment(s)

If pain is unbearable then opt the following prescription along with  primary treatments as well. 

  • First of all, prepare a delicate blend of ashwagandha and sugar (non-processed). Consumption of 5-6 grams of this powder with milk daily in the morning and evening, is a classic prescription for any type of back pain, body pain and any kind of weakness as well.
  • In Joint pain, consume bread (roti/chapati) made of gram flour with clarified butter daily without mixing salt in it. It is very beneficial in joint pain.
  • Prepare jaggery pudding mixed with clarified butter and two tablespoon full of ashwagandha. Eating this pudding for 15-20 days at empty stomach will give relief in any condition of joint pain.

Cautions

  • Consumption of ashwagandha in winter is preferably advised but avoid more consumption of it in summer.
  • Avoid spicy, oily and flatulent materials.
